Spreadsheet reconciliations
Analysts spend days every month exporting and comparing data from different systems. The process is slow, fragile and depends on one or two people.
Data assurance platform
Scrutiny connects to your operational systems, reconciles them automatically and keeps a complete audit trail of every match and exception. Use it to control day-to-day operations, prove a system migration moved every record correctly, and report on numbers you can defend.

The problem
Most organisations already have reports. What they lack is evidence that the systems behind those reports agree, and that data moved between systems arrived complete and correct.
Analysts spend days every month exporting and comparing data from different systems. The process is slow, fragile and depends on one or two people.
An import that finishes without errors does not prove the migration is right. Records go missing, values change and codes map incorrectly without anyone noticing.
When an auditor, regulator or board asks you to prove a figure, the evidence is spread across inboxes and desktops instead of one controlled record.
How it works
One platform with shared metadata underneath your reporting. New sources, rules and clients are added as configuration, not new code.
Reusable connectors land source data unchanged, with a fingerprint and audit record for every load.
Mappings turn each source into consistent, typed fields. Bad rows are flagged, never silently dropped.
Configurable rules match on your keys with tolerances, and control totals prove every record lands exactly once.
Every break becomes a case with severity, owner, SLA, ageing and an append-only history.
Governed reporting marts feed Power BI, with drill-through from any KPI to the source records.
Roadmap Scrutiny AI will sit across every step, explaining exceptions, trends and anomalies from governed evidence. It suggests; people approve.
The platform
Start with the problem that costs you the most today, and add capabilities on the same data, metadata and audit trail. We label what is available now and what is still being built.
Metadata-driven matching: exact, normalised references, date and amount tolerances, one-to-many and many-to-one, duplicates and ambiguous candidates.
Governed reporting marts and a Power BI report covering match rates, value at risk, exception ageing, operations and data quality.
A generic, configurable file connector with ingestion audit. Database and API connectors are next, and specific connectors can be built on a fixed fee.
A paid discovery that profiles your data and produces an evidence-based complexity, risk and readiness assessment before a migration or data programme.
Profiling, data-quality rules and readiness scoring. Today the platform already flags missing and invalid values as data-quality exceptions.
Governed source-to-target mappings with human approval, migration runs, and independent reconciliation of the result.
Run history, approvals and sign-off evidence packs for migrations and recurring controls.
Explains KPIs, exceptions and root causes from governed evidence. It never changes rules or controls without human approval.
Proven on the v0.1 platform
Figures come from our synthetic reference datasets, not client data.
Live demo
Below are eight synthetic claims and the payments made against them. Set a tolerance, run the engine, and watch Scrutiny classify every record.
| Claim | Approved | Expected | Status |
|---|
| Payment | Claim | Paid | Actual | Status |

What we catch
Conflicts become exceptions rather than guesses. Each one opens a case that is carried across runs until it is resolved, and returns if the problem comes back.
A claim was approved but no payment exists, or money left the bank with nothing behind it.
Values differ beyond your configured tolerance, with the exact difference calculated.
The same obligation was paid or recorded more than once, a direct financial exposure.
One system says paid, the other says reversed, pending or rejected.
Transactions that settled outside the service level or reporting window you agreed.
Two identical candidates compete for one record, so a person decides instead of the engine guessing.
Blank references or invalid amounts are kept and flagged with the row and reason, not silently dropped.
Business-specific checks, severity and SLA defined as configuration, not hard-coded scripts.
Why Scrutiny
Sources, mappings, keys, tolerances, severity and SLAs are metadata. A new client or reconciliation is set up, not rebuilt.
Every load, run, match and case change is kept: source values, differences, owner, status history and resolution.
The same engine that reconciles daily operations proves that migrated data is complete and correct, with sign-off evidence.
See how long each break has been open, which ones breach their SLA, what keeps recurring and where value is at risk.
Reporting reads only from governed marts, so Power BI today, or the BI platform you already use, sits on the same trusted numbers.
Each client has its own database, logins and secrets. Demonstrations use synthetic data until you are ready.

Connected add-on
Add Scrutiny Insights – Connected when you buy or renew the system. The connector and standard reports are built once for that system, so you go live in days at a lower price, with Scrutiny AI included as it is released.
For system vendorsScrutiny AI is included within a monthly fair-use allowance as it is released. Standard reconciliations from R12,950 / month; Intelligence Connected from R35,950 / month.
All prices are indicative, exclusive of VAT and subject to confirmed scope, data volumes, security requirements and integration complexity. Deployment into your own cloud, custom connectors and bespoke dashboards are quoted separately. A formal quotation follows discovery or assessment.
For operational-system vendors
If you sell or implement a policy administration, claims, ERP or practice-management system, Scrutiny Connected gives your clients reconciled, governed reporting from day one, and Scrutiny AI as it is released, without a custom BI project.

Who we work with
Claims vs payments vs bank. Prove every approved claim was paid, once, for the right amount.
Contributions, member records and benefit payments reconciled across administration and finance systems.
Transaction, ledger and settlement reconciliations with the control evidence risk teams require.
Assess the legacy data, migrate it under control, and prove the result before go-live and sign-off.
Commissions, premiums and policy data matched between insurer feeds and internal systems.
Replace month-end spreadsheet reconciliations of orders, invoices, stock and payments with a repeatable process.
Getting started
FAQ
No. If you already use Power BI we deliver there, and existing Power BI environments can be kept. Because reporting reads only from governed reporting tables, other BI tools can use the same numbers. Scrutiny does not require you to replace your preferred BI platform.
Our hosted platform runs on Microsoft Azure in the South Africa North region. Each client has its own database, logins and secrets. For larger organisations the platform can be deployed into your own cloud environment, quoted separately.
The current release ingests file extracts through a generic connector that is configured, not coded, for each source. Database and API connectors are next on the roadmap, and we build specific connectors for your systems on a fixed project fee.
No. Migrations and project reconciliations are licensed only for the months you need them. Ongoing services such as Insights, Recon and Assurance run on monthly terms, with better pricing for longer commitments.
Scrutiny AI is on our roadmap. It will explain KPIs, exceptions and root causes using only governed data and stored evidence, through controlled, read-only tools. It will never change your rules, mappings or controls without human approval, and every interaction will be recorded for audit.
A developer builds you a report. Scrutiny gives you a reusable reconciliation and assurance platform with rules, exception history and an audit trail, maintained as a product. You pay for an outcome that keeps running, not for hours.
We build and maintain a standard connector and report pack for your system once. You can refer clients to us, resell Scrutiny Connected on your own quotation, or include it in your premium tier. Your clients go live in days, each in their own isolated environment.
Yes. We demonstrate on synthetic data modelled on your process first, then move to a controlled sample of real data once you're comfortable.
